Details
Placeholder bug as I am waiting on final ad specs and ad run dates. Ads will run on plasma screens in 35+ UK student unions. Tentative due date, Sept 7 CTA will be to download the Back to school BYOB build, but needs to include messaging like "brought to you by the only not-for-profit browser. Will update as I get more information.

Hey all, I'm going to update all the bugs with this, but we'll need to deliver these ads to BAM for the end of the week after the all-hands. Do you want to have a call about this tomorrow or Friday to get this moving?
Thanks Chelsea. I know this seems like a relatively quick project... but with everything going on... getting this started asap is the best way to ensure we have it done in time for the week of the All-Hands. Especially since the All hands will keep our designer's hands mostly tied up. I'm PTO on Friday with spotty availability tomorrow. But will let Lee and others express their preferred time to discuss. Meanwhile, a quick outline of next steps and what's needed might be helpful too. Depending on the needs, I could also push this out to a freelancer. But, more reason to learn more ahead of time so I can do that sooner rather than later.
I'm adding Matej to this bug (he was on the copy bug) so we can sort out a meeting time. I'm getting the contract with BAM finalized, but wanted to get this rolling so that we could be sensitive to time constraints. I'm basically free all day tomorrow except for 1 PT. Additional details to the description above: Ads will appear for a minimum of 30 seconds 6 times an hour and possibly more Ads need to be in jpeg format
Thanks Chelsea. So, can you please clarify: * Number of ads you need. * Specs (size of ads) * General message / CTA * Graphics? What do you want to show? the add-on icons? the owl? just the Firefox Logo? I think I'll ask Rhonda to help with this. cc-ing her here.

Hey Rhonda, thanks for posting these! It's totally my bad, but the focal point of those rays were never cleaned up. On the Landing pages, it was hidden by the CTA buttons. Do you mind cleaning those so they converge to a point? I'm hoping to make a change to the Landing page too, as I just saw how goofy they look here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/backtoschool/ Chelsea is it too late to do this? Could we ask Webdev to place the button over that focal point, if not?
Hi Rhonda. These are looking great. Just a few of thoughts from me: • Since these are display ads, please replace the download button in each with the CTA line: "Download it now at mozilla.org/backtoschool" (and maybe make the URL bold, unless that violates our visual guidelines) • Is there some way to subtly differentiate the two adds? There's slightly different information in each and I'm worried if they look identical people will miss that. • I'm also wondering if we should go to the shorter, two-word descriptions of the add-ons from the First Run page so there's not so much copy. What do others think? Thanks!

I'm going to try to quickly update the artwork - ack. The issue I'm having is that it's messy where the background 'rays' meet. I missed it when I submitted my PSDs, bc the buttons covered them up. If folks don't think it looks bad, maybe it's not worth the trouble...?

Hey guys-- In response to the comments about shortening copy, I took the abbrieviated copy from one of Lee's layouts and put it in place of the longer sentences under the logos. I also varied the layout as Lee had done in his, and added a FF logo to each since when taking away the button, we also took away the FF branding. Lee--I took a stab at fixing the rays. Hey Rhonda, We're mostly good here. One note about the Green ad (http://www.intothefuzz.com/rhonda/Aquisition_Plasma_ads/856x480_plasma_v1.jpg). The Evernote and Shareaholic icons kind of blend into the green. Can you add a bit of white around them to help them pop out more? Let me know if you have more questions and thanks!

Hey Chelsea-- As I was looking at the sizes for the other ads, something occurred to me. There are some pretty small sizes here -- many of the additional sizes are smaller by a half or more from the original that was approved. I will need to edit the text and graphics for everything to be readable. Should I just take a stab at doing the editing myself or would you like to let me know what the abbreiviated copy should be? I am attaching an example of how small one of the smaller screens are so you will have some reference. :) --rhonda

I'd recommend to use the copy from the banner ads as a starting point. If we see there's more room to ad information, I can provide some guidance on that. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Nice job, Rhonda. Definitely some small ads in there, so well done to keep as much info as possible. I wonder, however, if it's more important to explain what they'll be getting, rather than show the add-on icons, like we did in the banner ads. If so, below is what I would suggest for each. Hey Rhonda. Matej and I just had a look at the ads and have some feedback: 126x480v1 This one looks good! 126x480v2 This one is pretty good, but the add-on icons seem a little close to the owl 216x480v1 The spacing on this one is a off to me. Could you try moving the icons to the bottom and add the headline beside the firefox logo? 216x480v2 Similar issue here. Because there's more copy now, the space has become the differentiating feature. Would this work without the icons? 297x210v1 Same issue with the two above. Again consider losing the icons if you think that would work or try moving the icons to the bottom? 297x210v2, 347x192v1, 347x192v2 Same as before. I just realized I was repeating myself over and over :) Let me know if you have any questions and thanks!
