Reporter are you seeing this in 0.8?
Yes, Mozilla 0.8 exhibits the exact same behaviour. The DBX output is almost 
the same (certainly it looks like the crash occurs at the same location in 
gif.cpp).

One extra thing to note that this crash occurs during startup ie I never see 
the browser window appear.
