User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0.1 Build ID: 20110707182747 Steps to reproduce: I updated to the latest version of Firefox (5.0). I have run SuperAntiSpyware, Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes repeatedly. Actual results: No change. Expected results: Sporadically, when using Google (on Firefox only), I am redirected to websites that I did not click on. I had read a posting that indicated updating to the latest version of Firefox would address this issue; it did not. I have also read numerous postings that xulrunner 1.9.1 is the culprit and must be deleted or disabled, or a cookie known as apmebf, but I am unclear if either of these are the solutions. I would need to know how to disable or delete both of these if they are contributing to the problem.
Please ask for help at http://support.mozilla.com. Bugzilla is not the right place to ask for support. The xulrunner thing you mentioned is a malware addon that appears under (alt key)/tools/addons/extensions if it's installed on your system.
