Taken to open source bug database from http://bugscape.netscape.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3842 --- paste comments --- hen I first tried to use the plugin, I got a message that the browser did not have enough memory and the program crashed (error 2). After increasing the memory, I tried again. The original picture loaded, but attempts to rotate the picture give you a monochromatic display. To duplicate, go to the Hyundai site, choose Sonata, choose interior, choose 360° ------- Additional Comments From shrirang 2001-02-05 20:50 ------- hm..ifI am not wrong, this was working on win/mac earlier. I see the problem mentioned here on mac (working fine on windows). The plugin loads, but after clicking with the mouse inside the plugin area, the image disappears and a monochromatic display is seen. Reassigning to peterl, cc:av. ------- Additional Comments From shrirang 2001-02-06 20:15 ------- I tested with a latest trunk build(20010205) on mac and this bug is present there. We need to move this to bugzilla. -- end pasted comments

Like Shrirang said, seems to display fine at first, then blanks out instead of rotating. I'm going to need some help from IPIX. Eric, do you know anyone there?

Chris, can you find someone at IPIX to contact? Thanks.
Peter - Sol is trying to get a contact, perhaps through Chris :-)

from iPix on 3/8: We are currently updating the iPIX Netscape Plugin for 3.x, 4.x and the installer for Netscape 6. I anticipate we will have a release candidate within the next 45 days. Thanks, John Fairstein Senior Product Manager (865) 482-1293 ext. 422
Called John. He will very helpful and will attempted to get me in touch with the Mac engineer in the next week.

I spoke to John Lousteau today. John told me that it would take IPIX about a month to change their installer to work with Mozilla based browsers such as Netscape 6 (e.g. detect the new install locations, etc.). In the meantime, I'll try and see if I can act as the harbinger of bug 77244 to folks such as IPIX (my previous attempts failed since John Fairstein no longer works for IPIX).
What's the MIME type of IPIX? Since it works well on Windows, I can add it to the 4.x scan at least. Also, Shrir, can you try this on Mac again. A check-in from last night may have effect this positivly.
Sweet !! The testcase in this bug is actually working smoothly on today's latest mac trunk 2001051616IIPIX plugin . I see no flickering at all. It's all nice and clear. Will start doing further testing on this plugin since this seems fixed now. Marking Fixed. Can anyone verify ?

YES!!!! IPIX now work on Mac! I think it was due to my "lost focus" Mac patch that went in the other day. Arun, should we include IPIX in the "sweep".....where do we "draw the line"?
Working...verified again on mac 2001051705
