Steps to reproduce:

I opened two sites:

www.gmail.com
www.filehippo.com

and the Firefox 7.0 beta 1 memory usage went upto 2.5 gb, though this version claims to have memory usage reduction and improvements


Actual results:

I checked the usage of memory in task manager and see 2.5 GB occupied by firefox with only 2 tabs open.


Expected results:

firefox should not have used so much memory with 2 tabs open.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode?

There doesn't seem to be a compartment for the www.filehippo.com site you mention. And where do you see the 2.5GB RAM usage?

You must post about:memory at the moment you see the huge RAM usage.
