Firefox 5.0. Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I want to create a new window.
I press Apple N (Command N).
No way.
The menu bar is almost empty.
Too bad.
I see no good reason for the dialog forbidding all of that.
Proof :
Happily, I have a normal window in the background. I click it. The menu bar is now full. I press Apple N. I get a new window.

In all your examples, you're trying to open a .dmg file. The dialog box that you see here is NOT from the browser, it's the OS that displays it. The browser doesn't really expect that it has to wait, which explains this bug and bug 682544. Actually, I think bug 682544 is more acceptable than this one.

Oh no, the dialog is not from Mac OS X, it is from Firefox, I am sure of that, I recognize it.

IMO this is not a valid enhancement. If I want to download a file, I either press ok button or cancel button. This operation takes half a second, so in that half second why should I open a new window for example? That's why the menu items are missing.
For example :

During that half-second, my phone rings and I answer. I chat with my friend. We plan a visit to the cinema, so I press Apple N to create a Firefox window, and in this window I go to www.allocine.fr to find the cinemas and their show times.

I have a life in Firefox besides its front stuff. I have a life on my Mac besides Firefox. I have a life besides my Mac.
