Hey James -
I was looking at the new email opt-in on this page:
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-6.0&os=osx&lang=en-US.
I think we should make this an on page confirmation rather than redirecting them to mozilla.org/newsletter. That way if they haven't finished reading through the installation instructions, they can return to them after signing up for the newsletter. It can be a simple message. If space is an issue, we can simply say, "Thanks for subscribing!" If we have more space, we can us what we have in the footer:
"Thanks for Subscribing!
We look forward to soon begin sharing tips & tricks on getting the most out of Firefox, as well as exciting news about Mozilla and how we’re working to create a better Web."
