684395 - [Mobile] A/B testing of QR code on /mobile

The current QR code we're using for Aurora downloads (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#Download_Aurora) accounts for 38% of all the clicks. 

I would like to conduct an A/B test on /mobile to find out whether QR codes would be effective for our GA release as well.  My hypothesis is that they will be successful as well, but I also want to know if QR codes can increase downloads or just make the downloading experience easier for those already going to download.   

Could be implemented as a link somewhere near the download button that would bring up the QR code.  

Thoughts?

Jaclyn,

The user testing revealed that the blockers appear to be lack of compelling content on landing page and confusion inside the Android store (that's where the users seem to be looking for the most reliable information).

Can you talk to the other PMMs and ask about using the video on the landing page - is there a reason to do so or not to do so, has that been tried?

Using a video is a great idea, but we need to assess whether our current mobile video is still relevant, or is a new video would have to be made

Jaclyn, how do you feel about closing this as a duplicate of bug 667554, since it looks like you're going to put a QR code in future versions of pages on the site anyway?
