68453 - Multiple s.gif "newsgroups" appearing spontaneously

At some point while I've been reading news, three instances of a "group" called
"s.gif" have appeared in my 'Mail Folders' pane.  I can unsubscribe from them
(after being told they're invalid).

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
I've been unable to cause this behaviour to occur, but it has happened several
times in different builds and different profiles.

I've subscribed to the n.p.m.directory newsgroup and unsubscribed to n.p.m.oji
today.  The bogus groups didn't appear immediately after doing either of these
operations, though.  I've been reading through n.p.m.directory (new
subscription, downloaded 500 headers) and n.p.m.mailnews (subscribed for a
while, downloaded about 30 headers).

Oops, got tripped up by name abbreviation.  The actual names of the bogus groups
are: sv010011.gif, sv010013.gif, sv010015.gif.

The only console output regarding these groups is from when I unsubscribed:

it was/is.
