The simplest fix would be to just flip the pref: browser.urlbar.trimURLs .
Sounds good to me, we should make it so!
Why are we going to turn this off? It's been working sufficiently on Aurora and Beta that we didn't turn it off before. We have known about the c&p shortcoming since the feature landed. It seems kind of odd to be tossing a feature the day before final builds. We have follow-ups that can ship 6 or 12 weeks later and I'd prefer we didn't make a knee-jerk u-turn at the last minute here.
