That was done in bug 368598 and was a problem workaround actually. We need to introduce caret moved/selection change event coalescence to not report selection changed twice (for example, both for removed selection and for added selection). Coalescence should fire an event for top most hypertext accessible to handle selection changing across sibling hypertexts correctly.
