Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to http://ideanews.ru/
2. Press Ctrl+F and search for something which is there (e.g. the number of news, or "Новости", or "но").
3. Close the tab.
In about:memory, press "Minimize memory usage" and reload the tab. The compartment is still there, taking over a megabyte:

I can't reproduce this using the STR in the first comment. This is on FF9 on Linux. "Minimize memory usage" makes the compartment go away.
Aleksej, do you have any addons installed?
I tried with the latest Aurora (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0a2) Gecko/20110923 Firefox/8.0a2 - French lang) and I'm able to reproduce the zombie compartment even after pressing many times on "minimize memory usage".

Ah, the compartment seems to stick around until I make another search in the search box.
I think this is a dupe, although I can't find that bug at the moment.
