RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 564934

People

(Reporter: jdbaker5, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0.2
Build ID: 20110902133214

Steps to reproduce:

I was chatting on yahoo, and a download started that I was waiting on.

Actual results:

The download list stole keyboard focus. When I hit "enter" the download paused. this killed my download, as it did not support resuming.

Expected results:

an unobtrusive notification should have appeared instead, similar to the "download completed" alert. That and the download list should just be another tab, opened in the background for perusal at my leisure. I don't need to change focus to something unless I directly ask for it.
A new download manager is already on its way in UX builds. Screenshot: http://www.geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/firefox-new-download-manager-580x285.jpg

Download a UX nightly and see if you like it: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-ux/
If you find any similar issues with the new UI please file a new bug and set it to block bug 564934 so it can be investigated.
