Bug 254714 is supposedly fixed, but I can still reproduce it with https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=562776 (testcase from bug 689585).
Click on the button to open a new window.
Notice how the url bar first shows 'about:blank', then after a while the url is shown.
I see this on trunk and Firefox 6.
