68986 - cannot access URL - connection timed out

www.computerjobs.com works from wget, telnet, or netscape 4.7, but not from
mozilla nightly 201021421 or prior. lynx also fails about 50% of the time.

their techinical lead claims that they are not doing any user agent discovery.
here is his response:

After I received your inquiry, I consulted our Development team to get as
much information for you as possible.  Based on the information that I
received, our site does not do any user agent testing on the homepage.  Our
site should be accessible using any browser, though some browsers tend to
render our site better than others.  Internet Explorer 4.0 or better and
Netscape 4.7 or better tend to encounter fewer problems.

can anyone confirm this? of course they do UA testing - anyone who uses
javascript has to. i'm concerned that there seem to be some sites to which
connections are dropped, time out, or are refused with no visible feedback.

I'm having no trouble accessing this with linux build 2001021421...  Are you
using a proxy?

no proxy, but if you can access it, it must be intermittent or site-related.

i'll take it back up with them, you can close the bug, thanks!
