Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; Trident/5.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; SLCC2; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET4.0C)

Steps to reproduce:

User-Agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0

No matter what website I go to using Firefox 7, after loading a few pages, it ALWAYS freezes after a few page loads. On the tab it says "connecting" and it will stay like that forever if you don't close it. At that point, even if I try and go back to the last page it doesn't respond. If I close my browser and re-open it for a new session I am able to load a few pages and get stuck with the same problem

1. Load Facebook
2. Login
3. Go to homepage/wall
4. Click on anything (whether it be a link to a webpage or a link to my photos)

OR

1. Go to google
2. Type a search
3. Load 2 pages of search results
4. Click on a result/link

Actual results:

After steps 1-3 (sometimes earlier) it stops loading pages.
If I close the browser and open it again, same thing happens, it stops loading after a few page loads.
I re-installed Firefox several times to try and fix the bug, it did not help.

Expected results:

Firefox 7 browser should have loaded whatever pages I wanted because there was/is nothing wrong with them. Everything I have tried on Firefox works perfectly when using internet explorer. This is not a problem on Facebooks end or any other webpage for that matter because it works fine on other browsers.

I have had this problem with Firefox ever since I updated to version 6 and after updating to version 7 it did not go away
Can you please try it in the firefox safemode ?
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Please try a new profile if the safemode doesn't help.
http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing%20profiles

Do you use any kind of proxies, third party firewalls or is your Firefox profile located at a network drive ?
Can you go to about:config and change the value of "network.http.max-connections" to 30 ? Does it help?

(Suspecting bug 692260.)
@aceman, it works when I change the value and keep the browser open to browse, but when I close and re-open the browser it doesn't save the value I changed.
Does it save any other changes to preferences (done via Tools-Options)?

This mostly looks like a dupe to me.

@jk91289: The only thing that's additional is that you're not seeing the change to your network.http.max-connections across restarts, which is... weird. Can you verify that? Do you also not see other values you change preserved across restarts? If not, please open a new bug just for that issue ("Pref changes not preserved across restarts").

Also, if you could go to bug 692260 and report the DLLs that you have loaded (see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/881844#answer-257085 for instructions), plus your about:support output and ideally an HTTP log too, that'll help us figure out what's going on with the freeze.

(We normally don't have to ask users for this much help, but we're having trouble replicating the bug, so we need as much info from people experiencing the problem as possible).

thanks,

Jason
