Main Message: Bring the What's New page back to it's roots and really focus it on "What's New" in the product instead of engagement campaigns. Matej: Please wrap this all within our Q4 messaging platform - more details on suggested ways to do that below. 

We have a lot of great things to share since they last saw this page with Firefox 6 (meaning this is our chance to brag about two strong releases: Fx7 and Fx8). Callout the best three changes within the last 2 releases within the top promo spot.

New Top Promo:
Focus on 3 new features. Something like: "Firefox answers to no one but you - you asked, and we listened - here's are the latest Firefox features"

1. Main featured product and graphic: Integrated Twitter Search; it's now even easier to find and connect to people from Firefox

2. Firefox is more trim/slender; we take up a lot less memory on your computer. It's okay if this is a copy bullet point only since graphic will be Twitter search. 

3. Add-on Optimization - clean out your third party add-ons to make your browsing even faster. learn more. (link). It's okay if this is a copy bullet point since graphic will be Twitter search. 

Include a "More changes" link somewhere that will link to the release notes within that top promo. (Even though we link to the release notes down below)

Visually I'm imagining a large headline, and then the three features above listed as bullet points. The main graphic area should be devoted to the new Twitter search integration. 

Bottom Promo Changes: Replace "back to school" module with the old newsletter signup module. (no new creative needed but would be nice to include in mockup to make clear for dev) 

LoMo - anything to add here?

Timing: final graphics by 10/28 in time for the Fx8 launch on 11/08.

Hey Lee, given that you're back from your trip on 10/24, does that give you enough time to work on this? Would be great if so.

Laura, thanks for the very detailed bug - super helpful, and this sounds like a great idea. One request: could you file a copy bug (with the same info in comment #0) as well? Would be a little cleaner that way.

Matej, assuming Lee is able to do this the copy would be due on 10/21.

Update here - let's put this on ice right now. We may not show the What's New page during this release. We will have this figured out with Eng. by the time Lee returns from PTO. 

I'll update here. If we don't do a What's New page for Fx8, we will most likely for Fx9.
