Here is a report of a bug I encountered on Mac OS X. I was using Firefox 6.0. By default, links with attribute target="_blank" opened in a new tab or window. This was irritating. So I had set the secret pref http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.link.open_newwindow to 1, and I was a happy cat. A few days ago, I upgraded my Firefox to version 7.0.1, thanks to the embedded updating mechanism. Now, I encounter jumping windows or tabs on some links. I find the explanation : in about:config , the hidden pref browser.link.open_newwindow is now set to 3. Firefox had silently made the — unwanted — change. In such case, please retain the hidden pref value when I upgrade Firefox. Thank you. Nicolas
