Since "under the hood" we're actually running Firefox, we're going to have to find a way to trick Windows into showing the app's icon instead of Firefox's, and "pinning" the Web App instead of firefox.exe

This should be working in the feature/native-app now that we package XULRunner with the extension. Mohamed, can you verify?

Tested with the latest build of the extension built today from the feature/native-app branch. It can be found here: http://people.mozilla.com/~mdabbagh/openwebapps/extension/openwebapps_15112011.xpi

Tested this specific scenario with Windows 7 and also tried the 'Pin to Start Menu' option. Tried with multiple apps (free and paid) from apps.mozillalabs.com/appdir and https://addons-dev.allizom.org/en-US/apps/.

Also tried with similar functionality in Vista such as the 'Attach to Quick Launch' and 'Pin to start menu' options.

All icons are now the correct icons corresponding to the correct app.

Need to re-verify this with extension built from 'develop' branch once code is merged.

This is now fixed in the latest code from develop. Verified that pinning an app on Windows to the task bar pins the app icon. Tried pinning the app to the start menu and that works as expected as well. Also tested with Vista's pin to quick launch feature and it works as expected there too. Tested with FF9 (b4) and using openwebapps-23dc5022e9-12_02_2011.xpi from http://people.mozilla.com/~dclarke/openwebapps/Extension/
