If I try to open a link from another app then it switches to Fennec but nothing happens. I have to quit Fennec and click the link to get it to load.

I can't reproduce this in my birch tip build or in today's birch nightly. Are you still seeing this bug? If so, can you provide exact steps to reproduce?
Running the 20111102 nightly. I was using Plume to read twitter. Opening the first link I wanted to read launched Fennec and loaded the page. I pressed back to go back to Plume and found another link to read. I tapped it and it switched to Fennec but it didn't start loading anything. I tried it again and still didn't work. I quit Fennec and tried again and then it worked
I still can't reproduce this. Have you tried this in a current nightly with the same steps?
Difficult to say, with the latest nightly whenever I open a link from another app I either just get a black screen or Fennec crashes
Tested this on 2011-11-29 build- opening links works as expected, but, when the back button is pressed, it returns to the previous app but the tab that was opened is not closed as expected. Is this the same bug?

Is this the same bug? Bug 699052 is about fixing the back button stack

It raises on my Desire HD (2.3 HTC Sense Official) from 2011-12-19 build and now(2011-12-20). Before 2011-12-19 build, I could open links from other apps while fennec is already running. "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" is showed.

I had that yesterday, today's build fixed that problem for me.

Either way it's clearly a different bug so if you're still seeing it I'd recommend filing something new.
I had the same problem with Aurora 11. 1- Official Twitter app. Open a link. Works fine 2- Go back with Android button to twitter 3- Choose another link and this time navigation bar shows the correct url, but nothing show

That is being handled in bug 712761
Was just about to report this bug when I realized it got fixed in today's nightly (January 3rd, 2012). All seems well now. Thanks for your work!
I no longer get the error message in the current nightly but clicking on a link in the Android twitter app to bring up the nightly with it not running does *not* open up the link in the nightly when it launched. Clicking on the link a second time (with nightly already running) brings up the link.

I am hoping that is fixed by bug 714972
