Go to: https://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Graphics/hands-on-css3/hands-on_svg-filter-effects.htm and click on "Torchin’". IE 10 (required for filter support) performs much, much better than Firefox.
Hardware accelerated filters will be required to make this test run fast, I suspect.
Could be an invalidation area issue though.

Moz2d seems to have improved performance here.

ietsetdrive is no more unfortunately. IIRC we did close most of the gap with moz2d
