using portrait mode to file bugs, i get annoying "flashes" whenever I'm typing into the textfield. doesn't seem to happen in landscape mode.

on a galaxy tab 10.1, latest birch nightly.
OS: Linux → Android
I believe I see this too, albeit on a Nexus S (Android 2.3.6), and not a tablet; what I am seeing is a very quick split-second text highlight of the entire range of characters I am typing into this text-box.

Gary, can you confirm if what you see is a character-wide selection that appears and disappears rather rapidly?

If so, I'll edit the summary to reflect a better description.

No, I don't believe so. If I'm typing, the flashing occurs every few words that I type, and I don't notice any form of selection taking place.

What kind of "flashes" do you mean? Are they visible in the text box or on the whole screen? Is that similar to bug 697838? What input method are you using?
Could you clarify please.

pcwalton mentions this may have been fixed in the latest nightlies, but I'll verify once startup crasher bug 702365 is fixed.
This may be fixed in tonight's nightly ( bug 595008 ). Gary, can you check on tomorrow's build please? I do occasionally see Commit 1 appearing. We may want to log a separate bug for that.
My original issue is now WFM on latest Aurora on the tablet.
