Bug 475045 added the option to drag selected non-linkified text urls to the bookmark toolbar. However, lots of websites don't include the protocol when it's a regular website (a la google search). It would be very convenient if this feature could be extended to support that as well. this is similar to Bug 515512 extending Bug 454518
this is also relevant for drags from the location bar, now that the protocol is not displayed. however, that may be taken care of by Bug 670587

I just tested this on the latest Firefox nighty, at some stage we made it so you can drop a non-linkified URL onto the address bar, e.g. highlighting awebsite.example.com and dragging it. Hence marking as WFM.
