We would like to run a snippet to promote the launch of the Marketing site. Matej if we can get the snippet copy by Wed or Thurs we can include it in the Flicks l10n batch.

In terms of snippet icon design, a smaller version of the flicks logo should be perfecto.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Lets make this a copy bug since the snippet icon is just a resizing/polishing.

Sean, I know you're busy with KL, but if you can resize the logo that'd be great. I rather you do it. Also, we can go beyond the 40x50 limit if we need to - within reason.

Here are some snippet options. I think they work as social options as well, so I'll post them over at that bug, too.

One additional thought here. Would there be any interest/value in doing a functional snippet, maybe showing the teaser video or some of the winning videos from last time?
hehehe "exclamation marks!" that cracked me up.

Any value in add something like "here"? sometime that helps drives clicks. At least it works well on social media when you say your blurb and then, here:

> Lights. Camera. Awesome. Help us tell the story of Firefox and you could win
> great prizes. Learn all about Firefox Flicks.

I like. Maybe an exclamation mark for more excitement ?! :)

I like this very much too. Can we add an extra note of what firefox flicks is? "contest" etc. maybe also add a note on prizes.

> Great prizes! Celebrity judges! Exclamation marks! Learn more about Firefox
> Flicks!

Maybe you meant this as a joke. But I kinda like it :) or at least, some version of it. made me smile.

yes. I think this is great. except that the snippet and the video are both teasers...so, not sure if it makes sense to take them from the snippet to a teaser video (which is also on the landing page).

so, I guess I change my answer to a "no" :)

I was thinking this one would really target the film side of things. Might be hard to add prizes without adding too many more words, but I can give it a shot. Contest shouldn't be a problem, though.

Nope, no joke. Would love to see something like that in the mix.

I'm starting to wonder if the video on the landing page makes sense. If we're going to be using it as a method of driving to the site, then is it redundant to have it there again? Not saying it necessarily has to go in the snippet (that was just a thought), but it will be other places with the intent of getting people interested and visiting the site.

I mentioned this earlier as well. I think it really depends on how we design the landing page. making sure the video isn't the main centerpiece in a way that would make it feel too redundant. Also, keeping in mind that the "video box" will likely rotate to another promo video as the campaign evolves. So, good to just keep all the different campaign states in mind to make sure we avoid redundancies like this. I guess we'll have more clarify once we have that meeting tomorrow to iron out latest wrinkles on landing page, etc.
Can we run more then one to test and see which one gets a higher click thru? If so then lets run two different formats. Maybe one that starts with Lights. Camera. Awesome. etc and one that doesn't start with that headline.

I like this one. Do you think we need anything about global in here? Or if we run this on different locales maybe we don't need global.

> Calling all aspiring filmmakers. Enter Firefox Flicks and your video could

I like this very one as well and agree with Tara that we probably need to say what Flicks is. Not sure which is more of a draw celebrity judges or great prizes? Both probably.

> Great prizes! Celebrity judges! Exclamation marks! Learn more about Firefox
> Flicks!

I also liked some version of this. Makes me stop and read.

Starting to agree about the comments re: video. Maybe the landing page isn't the best place. I think we can still use the video through social channels. Anywhere else?
Looks like the three below were the favorites, so I made a few changes. It's hard to inject global into the first one, but I think if you're seeing it in your locale and language, then it's implied (at least that you're allowed to enter). I took out the word "aspiring" from the second one because I think it's more aspirational that way (people think of themselves as filmmakers, not aspiring ones), but easy to put back in if you disagree. I don't think it needs the word "contest" now, though, since we're saying "enter" and talking about prizes. And I added more content to the third one so it says more about the contest.

I like.
Those sound good - and +1 to testing three different versions. Noted in Bug 701732.

How's the design going for this snippet icon?

I see that it's going to be a smaller version of the icon. Please add to this bug once it's done, and once it's re-sized. For bonus points, just add to this album and link to it from this bug!

Sweet. are we ready to close this out?
Still waiting on the artwork for the snippet icon I believe (unless I missed it)
Hey Kindly creatives,

As flicks launched today, it would be great if we could get the snippet graphic today as well. Let me know when you can pass it along.

Thanks@

Hey all,

We're going to run another snippet for the launch of the submission site. Would it be possible to update the versions below to include the following messaging:

1) The contest is now open
2) people can vote on their favorite videos

Lights. Camera. Awesome. Help us tell the story of Firefox and you could win amazing prizes! Learn all about Firefox Flicks.

Calling all filmmakers. Enter Firefox Flicks for a chance at great prizes and exposure to Hollywood judges. Learn more.

If we could get this by Feb 20th that would be superb.

Thanks!

Here you go. I managed to work both new points into the first and third, but left the voting message out of the second one since that's targeted specifically at filmmakers. Hope that works for you.

Those work for me. Kristin, Winston?
(In reply to Chelsea Novak [:chelsea] from comment #21)
> Those work for me. Kristin, Winston?

I just heard from the Engagement content meeting that the CTA here should be to watch the submissions, not to enter (since mass market are not film makers) - Chelsea, double-checking around what the desired CTA should be?
Just copying in my e-mail:

The trouble with making the CTA to just watch at this point is that the site won't but populated with many videos come Feb28. I was hoping we could adapt the message to be about just voting later on in the competition when more people have submitted. Also, the "know any filmmakers" version of the snippet speaks more to a mainstream audience as we'd discussed when the marketing site launched in Dec.
Howdy all
I know we settled this during the content meetings, but just for record keeping we're going with option 3

Great prizes! Hollywood judges! Exclamation marks! Enter Firefox Flicks, the global video contest to tell our story, or vote for your favorites!

What date will this go live (later in the month? earlier? I lost track, sorry) and do you need the flicks logo again.

Please let me know and thanks!

Hey Chelsea, are we good to close this?
Yeah, we may want to do a snippet for winners, but I'll open a new bug for that. Thanks!
