We don't have a good way to see javascript logging on android. I have had this patch locally for a long time. I also committed it to birch to make application bring up easier. I am sure it is useful to others and has not had any noticeable perf hit.

of course it is opposite day, and that patch is the opposite way (i was diffing between trees)
