This is an interesting bug. Any change you could try to produce this on a fresh profile (with no extensions installed) and on Firefox 12 or newer?

This works for me, even tested on my old XP machine. Can you reproduce in safe mode?

Most event loop spinning has been removed from Sync and we haven't heard of anyone having this problem these last five years, I think it's safe to close this bug :)
