Details

I have been having this problem since before the dawn of time. When I start Mozilla the profile manager starts minimized and there is no splash screen. Actually the splash screen is a new thing. It used to appear behind all the windows, but now it doesn't appear at all. Yes I made a new profile, but what does that have to do with anything? Profile manager hasn't loaded yet. Yes, I have built myself and downloaded builds. Yes, this is reproducable (at least on my computer). I am on windows 2000 and have a build from 2/22. This is not a persistance of window bug is it? I wish there was a severity for annoying, because that is what this bug is. And I want to see the splash screen after Moz 1.0.
i never have seen this, but am on win98. have you tried a new profile?
forget that, i did not see you tried.
I don't believe this is a problem on Windows 98. This also happens on the 3/10 build. Timeless was talking about Windows 2000 not allowing Windows to be brought to the front without permission from the user and that all they can do is flash. I see the splash screen once in a while, but not all the time. Sometimes it seems the program loads too fast to see the splash screen, although for a couple seconds there is nothing on the screen at all. When I do see it once in a while, there are no windows on the screen so they don't interfere. If there are no windows on the screen, the profile manager appears on startup too. If there are any other windows open, though, it doesn't appear in front, but behind the windows. I verified this by minimizing windows until I saw it.
Worksforme win2k all builds. Order of appearance after clicking on the icon: Console, splash screen above it, then a moz window appears behind both the splash and the console, then the splash disappears. This leaves the console in front of mozilla. Profile Manager comes up fine.
Ok, the splash screen now appears. If you click on another window while loading, the splash screen disappears and then the profile manager appears behind all the other windows. The profile manager should appear in front of all the windows no matter whether the splash screen was hidden by clickin on another window. I think that is the problem. For instance, if I load Mozilla and then click on a window to continue typing and then want to go back to the profile manager when it loads, I never see it appear. I'm not sure if the main window does the same thing.
