Similarly when going to a direct download link just the title is changed - scenario:
1. Go to any website.
2. In the same website go to a direct download link: 1.usa.gov/deeXKM for eg.
3. Tap in the URL bar to modify the link - to download a related file from the same location would be a plausible scenario.
Actual: The original link is kept instead of the new one.
With the invalid link version of the issue presented in the bug there is a notification that an external app is needed to open it but no app is opened if the user taps the OK button on both Nightly/14.0a1 Native and XUL 2012-04-04.
The stock Android Browsers gives a default search engine result page if the URL is not of valid format.
Since this is also an issue on Native I am moving the issue on the Fennec Native product.

"Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIWebNavigation.loadURI]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/bindings/browser.xml :: loadURIWithFlags :: line 193" data: no]
