Details
Allow to manually "check for update".
I avoid getting the update when I'm on 3G, for obvious reason, and the notification often disappear when I'm home to do it on wifi, so I have to wait it appear again.
Having a "check for update" in the menu somewhere would be useful.

madhava -- if we are using our built in installer, we probably should have a menu item?

I don't think so. The daily check is good enough for most people. The about:firefox button is the manual way to do it. Just like on desktop.
