1. Go to camera API
2. Tap "Capture"
3. Notice it does not shoot but it selects the "Choose file" field.

It should show the object I want to shoot and take it's picture.

Can you try zooming in to be sure you hit the "Capture" button?

We really need a better in-page UI for this...
Will try to repro on latest nightly. At least I haven't seen this issue on my builds.
I was able to reproduce this and I made a video:

Mozilla /5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:9.0) Gecko/20111208 Firefox/9.0 Fennec/9.0
Device: LG Optimus 2X (Android 2.2)
I'm trying latest nightly Native Fennec 20111213 on my Samsung Galaxy 2

I can "sort of" repro the issue if I try to capture too quickly in succession, without letting the browser load the camera. Instead, I am getting the file picker prompt (e.g. from gallery).

However, in all cases I am able to get it to take a picture.

I noticed you must be using the latest XUL fennec. Could you try also the latest Native Fennec Nightly?
I'll try it as soon as I can!
I tried with today's Android Native UI Nightly update, after reinstalling as suggested. It worked fine!
