In Test 2 on this page, the images have inappropriate vertical spacing between
them.

It looks like the <A> span with the image in it is keeping a regular
line-height.
Status: NEW → RESOLVED
Closed: 25 years ago
Resolution: --- → DUPLICATE
The spacing is correct (if you don't want the spacing, see bug 5821).

The spacing is, however, missing from the first test on that page. That is
very probably a dup of 6865.
