711114 - [lij] Firefox News reader setup for Ligurian

News readers are web services allowing users to subscribe to RSS/ATOM feeds online and view them. If Firefox detects a feed, it offers the user the option to subscribe to it, either as a live bookmark or via one of the web services.

The current News Readers in en-US are Google and My Yahoo!.

We want to ship a good set of defaults for Ligurian, and will work towards that in three stages.

First, the localization team and Milos (Milos Dinic) will look at the market for the language and come up with a good candidates. Alessio, we'll need your input on this, the guidelines for making recommendations are on <https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox/Productization>. After we decided on a particular news reader, Milos will contact the owner and ask for permission. Alessio, we'll likely need your help to at least get the contact information.

Once we have a specification on what the set of news readers for Ligurian should look like, the localization team and Milos will work on an implementation on that. This should happen by the localization team creating and attaching patches for the desired changes, and requesting review from Milos. After a successful review, the localization team will land them. If you're not feeling comfortable with creating those changes, ask Milos to help out.

Please don't commit any modifications in browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties to the hg repository without a patch reviewed by Milos, Stas, Axel or someone else appointed by Milos/Stas. The data here is sensitive to users and our search partners, thus the extra care here.

The Ligurian team will be driving this bug to completion.

We don't have yet news readers in ligurian language, so we can choose the same used by italian version

For this bug, as well, you'll need to take a look at http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-aurora/it/file/tip/browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties and do the same thing Italian team did.

Alessio, I'm afraid you didn't understand. You'd need to do whatever Italian team did in http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-aurora/it/file/tip/browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties if you want to copy their defaults. Then, after making changes, create a patch and attach it here. After getting a positive review from Axel/me, you should commit changes and we can then close this bug.

Yes, I see that there is a little difference beetween italian and american version, and in my opinion the american version suits well.. If you are agree with me, i prefer leave it as it is(like american)...
