If we can attribute memory usage to a particular tab a little more accurately, it might be useful to allow the user to set a quote on a page. When it reaches the quota, the page could pop up an alert, or kill the page, or reload the tab, or something. timeless was suggesting this be done by default, but it would probably be annoying.

This would have to be an optional thing, it'd be incredibly annoying otherwise. And if it's optional, only a small number of power users would use it. And worst of all it sounds like it would be really difficult and invasive to implement.
Putting those things together, we agreed to WONTFIX this in today's MemShrink meeting.
