in the input text field the font verdana is specified although under linux (with installed verdana) another font is applied, causing the size of the box to break the layout.
sorry, seems verdana is applied but still the with is to large breaking the layout ... the same behaviour as under windows.
This problem is easily fixed by using a fixed-width font. There is no one trues size for a text input box in a variable-width font, and developers depending on there being a one true size should not. see also discussion in bug 25657 and bug 44467 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 43847 ***
