Clear history does not remove old items -- only way to remove them is wiping stock browser data

As far as I can tell, 'Clear History' is only clearing pages for 'Today'. I have older entries listed under 'Yesterday' and '7 days ago' that persist and there is no way to remove them. Tapping 'Clear History' under preferences dictates that browsing history will be deleted but such is not the case. As well, clearing navigational history under Stock browser will not remove these items.

The only way to remove these old historical items is to *wipe* the cache and data for "Browser" (stock). This is not ideal.

So there will be no way to clear history, unless I use the stock browser?
No, the plan is to use a local database separate from the system bookmark and history store. bug 704490, additional work still needed to enable it.
I don't understand. Doesn't that mean this bug is not WONTFIX and that it depends on the work in bug 704490?
