Android 4 allows to disable apps. This would be useful to disable the default Android Browser [1], but after doing so, Firefox does no longer work.
[1] It would be very helpful to be able to disable the stock browser because right now apps which start a browser (Reader etc) ask for the default application after every update of Firefox... meaning every day when using Nighty :/

I suspect this is due to us using the Android Browser data stores. bug 704490 added support for using a Firefox specific data store and switching to it may resolve this issue.

Tested this on my Galaxy Nexus (Android 4.0.4).
History/bookmark import is busted with the Android Browser disabled and yields a crash: bp-20197548-ca13-432e-b42b-de9262120628

Being able to disable the built-in browser would certainly help explain bug 768900.

..is that the right crash report though?

doesn't look related at all.
