New settings are listed here: http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/HighSpeed/Email/Setup%20And%20Use/QuestionsOne/86782

Changes from current autoconfiguration file:
- POP and SMTP server now support SSL.
- SMTP server port change from 587 to 465
- POP server port change from 110 to 995
increase importance to major because Verizon is really a big internet service provider and we already have impacted users on GSFN...
Severity: normal → major

Can we get a nice new file so we can request review etc .. ?
I would prefer that somebody else than me take it because I am not a Verizon.net user, and not particularly concerned by this issue...
Anyone else wants to take it???
I have the same problem, I don't have a verizon account either...

FWIW, SMTP reports:
250-AUTH DIGEST-MD5 PLAIN LOGIN CRAM-MD5
250-AUTH=LOGIN PLAIN
which doesn't make any sense. I'd have to try it, but I don't have an account.
Summary: Autoconfiguration for verizon.net needs to be updated → [config] verizon.net now supports SSL
