User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 Build ID: 20111220165912 Steps to reproduce: I have installed version 270.73 of the nVidia drivers on my Windows XP SP3 system with nVidia GeForce 7400 Go hoping I will get the benefits of hardware acceleration. I have noticed in about:support that at the hardware acceleration line there was a 0/1. After that I have noticed some video cards (from series 6000) have been blocked because of the Bug 612007. I have forced enabled the hardware acceleration and it seems to work properly. Maybe the issue was not the video card, but the drivers, so maybe the block should be removed. Actual results: Nothing happened - works just great. PS: I will attach the content of about:support in case that is useful. Expected results: According to Bug 612007 I expected black & white lines on some websites. I have not encounter such behavior yet. Everything is working just great.
The 7400 Go wasn't one of the ones blocklisted for the black and white stripes (that list can be found here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=524939&action=diff#a/widget/src/windows/GfxInfo.cpp_sec1). Please can you try turning off force-enable and pasting the graphics info section from the bottom of about:support again, so the reason for not enabling is shown. Thanks!

This is very weird. I have disabled the force hw acceleration and it still seems to work (I get 1/1 Direct 3D 9). Maybe it didn't work first time because I updated from an unsupported driver version. I distinctly remember on the unsupported version getting the 0/1 Direct 3D 9. Driver not supported - something like that in my language). Then I updated. The message was gone, but I still had 0/1 Direct 3D 9. Now it seems to be just fine. Very weird. It clearly detected the change in version since the message was gone, but it didn't enable the hw acc. As long as it works. Sorry for all your trouble.
I'll make a bold move and declare this a duplicate of bug 653102. Last I checked, we're still caching the decision to blacklist, and update this cached decision only once a day. Bug 653102 is about fixing that. The symptoms you describe make it sound very likely that that's what you were experiencing.
