Latest update has effectively killed firefox on my laptop, something about side by side config being incorrect

Steps to reproduce:
I updated to new 9.0.1
Actual results:
when I went to open FF again got a failure pop up say something about side by side config incorrect???
Expected results:
Firefox should have opened and my life would still be problem free, lmao

That worked perfectly, Thank you so much Matthias. I could not remove some of the 2005 visual C files so I downloaded Revo uninstall. That got rid of them, plus all the apple programs and files the same thing had happened too. On reading it seems that Microsoft Office 2010 trail is the root cause of these issues, interesting. So got rid of everything that I am aware was corrupted, downloaded new visual C files, firefox and iTunes and everything works perfectly again, SO SIMPLE. Why couldn't apple have told me that???

You can find in most cases useful answers with google if you use the unique parts of the Error message as search term.
I used "side-by-side configuration firefox" and the link to answers.microsoft is afaik the third one in this case :-)
