User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; rv:12.0a1) Gecko/20120108 Firefox/12.0a1 Build ID: 20120108031024 Steps to reproduce: Close Firefox and then immediately open a new instance Actual results: You get this dialog saying "Firefox Is Already Running But Is Not Responding" Expected results: No dialog should appear and Firefox should open as desired. Why are we still keeping this dialog? By killing i don't mean to just disable it but to kill the cause of the problem , if its longer shutdown time then maybe we should make Firefox check if some instance is on verge to exit whenever we start Firefox and kill it , and then open a new instance. Openly telling that firefox can't start is no fix and a UI draw back. NO other software says so , moreover we don't provide any Hint or tip on how to fix it , new users will never understand and this immediately creates an impression that Firefox is slow (Its failing to launch) . We should fix this ages old problem and make user experience smooth.

By comparison all other browsers are quick in here and don't show such dialog , why are we? There is no single GOOD reason to not to fix this issue.
For some reason Bugzilla is not displaying webm video , heres a link anyways : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1jkLOQejxM

I'm sorry but this bug report is invalid. General "too slow" bugs doesn't help and killing a Firefox process during a slow shutdown can damage the profile data. You can get this dialog also if you run multiple Firefox processes with different profiles. In the last case a killing would be just dataloss. You want a faster shutdown but you have to specify where we are slow (in the code). Additional note: Any addon can either slowdown the shutdown as long as it "wants".

That's a good example for the "I am the developer and I do not care about the problems of the users because they do not show good code examples" case. Did you really watched the video? Did you realize that Firefox is the only browser in the world who has this problem?
