We're not compressing input events in the gonk widget backend, which causes the IME in bug 718913 to lag behind user input for a second or two after panning around the character-selection screen really quickly.
There's likely some other slowness we need to fix there, but staying permanently behind current user input by a few seconds isn't helping perceived perf.
ISTR InputReader or something else in that little group of classes did some compression already, so we might get this for free.
