RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 501485

People

(Reporter: sworddragon2, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0
Build ID: 20120119221200

Steps to reproduce:

For example If I'm looking a flash video the plugin-container will start to load the flash plugin. But if all flash applications in Firefox are closed (for example all tabs are closed) the plugin-container is still remaining. It is in idle mode and consumes nearly no cpu power but it is still using ~35-40 MB on my system. In my opinion there should be an option which allows to close the plugin-conatiner if it is not needed anymore. For example the option could be called dom.ipc.plugins.idleTimeoutSecs or something similar.
