A basic set of developer tools will be launching w/Fx10 - see this bug 718802 for more details. 

We'd like to launch a snippet in the Aurora & Beta channels w/the goals of:

1. Raising awareness about these dev tools
2. Urging people to try out these new dev tools and provide feedback

Kevin will be providing more details around how exactly these users can provide feedback - will update here once I receive details. 

In the mean-time perhaps something like "Firefox now ships with more developer tools. Try them out by X then let us know what you think by Y." (rough!)

our normal feedback procedure is on our Get Involved page:

Since this is going to the aurora/beta audience, I wonder if maybe we're better of directing them to use the Feedback button? (Perhaps starting their message with "devtools"?)

A little wordy...

Also, the Web Developer menu is under the Tools menu on the Mac. Can the snippet be customized per platform?

Great - thanks for the example! I like the idea of simply pointing people to the Feedback button, after all, that's why it's there, and it's super easy to use.

Not at this point so let's keep the copy fairly generic. 

Matej - Is that enough to get started?

Timeframe: pre Fx 10 which launches next Tuesday on 1/31.

I like the second one, especially because finding anything on input.mozilla.org without a keyword like "devtools" seems quite difficult.

Sounds good - I think they're both strong so let's go with #2
