Expected results: You should get a notification that an update is available.

We haven't shipped this beta yet, no?
Damnit, I missed the part about "releasetest".
As given by the update.xml file, updates are silent for Firefox 10 builds (not the case for Firefox 9 and earlier): <update type="minor" displayVersion="11.0 Beta 1" appVersion="11.0" platformVersion="11.0" buildID="20120201153158" detailsURL="https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/11.0/releasenotes/" actions="silent"> As a result, if you turn app.update.log on and check Error Console you will see that the update is downloading in the background. You will not see a prompt until it has complete. This is working as expected.
