The image in the URL field fails to render on OS X with hardware acceleration disabled. It just leaves whatever was previously there in its space. (Switching tabs or scolling, for example.) I hit this because I was running Firefox in 32-bit mode, where hardware acceleration is disabled by default.
This might be OS X-specific; it's hard to know.
I don't have hwaccel on Linux and it just renders black there, FWIW.
Renders black on Win7 w/ D2D as well.
The image is meant to be all-black, fwiw.
I have observed this problem with another image (also all-black): http://fsn.seorinwastaken.com/u/UBW03-05c-03.jpg It happens with hardware acceleration disabled on both Firefox 14 32-bit (obsolete) and Firefox Nightly 18 64-bit; observed on OS X 10.6.8. It doesn't affect Windows.
Is this still an issue? I was unable to test this because both URLs are invalid/not found.

I have no way of knowing without having the original image. Crowder: you don't still have a copy of that image, do you? (Although it's possible that Facebook mangled it in some way that caused the issue.)

I don't have an uncached version of it, as far as I know. It was taken from one of the many SOPA-blackout images on the 'net at the time.
None of the links in the bug work anymore.
