it'd be super sweet if mozilla knew how to fetch/update bookmarks from the mothership, so that I can stop creating islands of bookmarks.

Not so fast, bucko. We're not talking about putting the whole bookmarks file on the remote system -- that would be pretty limiting, and people sometimes _do_ want different 'marks on different systems -- but rather using the power of RDF merging to let me have a branch of my bookmarks on another machine. Ass-u-ming that storing to HTTP and FTP URLs works OK, this isn't going to be too hard.

Ah. I had misunderstood the original request. :)
Would this be the same as, or related to, Bug #18043?
Sorry, Zach and others, this is post-1.0 unless inspiration strikes very suddenly.
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla1.1
Would it be possible to use an Iframe in the bookmarks.html so that various 'sub folders' in the bookmarks can be refering to bookmark.html files on other servers.

If you insist. The reporter doesn't use Seamonkey, but I'm just trying to usefully clean up my bug list. Sorry if I offended.

ok, marking worksforme then. please do not mark bugs fixed that aren't, in the product in which they were reported.
