The whole contents of about:memory is needed. Do the following Close all tabs Open about:memory Click on the GC button Copy contents to a text file and attach to this bug as before Open the image URL Go back to about:memory Click the update button Copy contents to a text file and attach to this bug as after

These images are very big, I think it's normal to load them a little slower. Indeed Chrome load them faster then Firefox.

Chrome definitely loads these faster. Also, in my test our UI froze up during the load while Chrome remained responsive. Moving to image component initially.

I can scroll, switch tabs, type, and navigate other tabs. Maybe HW accel is killing you? I don't have HW accel on this machine.
