Hm, this inline editing model may become redundant if all trees shift to 
outliner. Bookmarks is, is AIM? Tossing into .9.1 for now. Use the bookmarks 
code for a guide until then. (The current IL system is by my own admission 
/very/ shonky... and somewhat unreliable. I've mentioned this to syd and he says 
it has represented UI problems in the past)
