ok, I got a fix for the crashing that happens when you click on the thread pane after compacting folders. I'll get that checked in first.

fix in hand. I've got a patch that fixes the crashers, and returns us to the behaviour we had before the mailnews perf landing.
fixed. updating summary. compact is back to how it was before the performance branch landed. but it is not back to 4.x behaviour. there are several known bugs on that, I think naving owns them.

Verified fixed. Compacting doesn't crash and it deletes the messages from the thread pane (but leaves the message in the message display pane, known bug). 2001-04-06-04 Windows 2000 2001-04-06-08 Mac OS 9.1 2001-04-06-05 Mandrake 7.2 with KDE 2.
