this patch allows the user to set an environment variable before running make*.sh to let the user choose the name of the database, username, and password. with this, we don't have to modify the actual make*.sh files if we're not using mysql on the local machine with the superuser setup. it also (can) allow someone to reset the database with ease. if you're running tons of regression/automated tests. patch includes diff on all make*.sh files, along with the instructions on how to use them in the README file.
